Field Day 2023 will be at the Winfield Township Municipal Building. Thank you Winfield Township!
We will use the N3FJP Field Day Contest Log and Club Score Processor along with our VHF/UHF repeaters and this website to create a virtual field day for those who wish to operate from home.
Field Day is Amateur Radio’s Open House
It is an opportunity for local amateur radio clubs to showcase the skills, science and technologies that make radio communication such a wonderful hobby and a valuable public service.
Second Year of New Rules
The ARRL adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic with some temporary rule changes for Field Days 2020 and 2021, which they made permanent starting with Field Day 2022. If you missed the rule changes last year please see New Rules Going into Effect for ARRL Field Day. The two big changes are:
- Home stations get credit for contacting other home stations.
- Maximum PEP is limited to 100W for home stations.
General Field Day information can be found at the ARRL Field Day Page.

LATEST FIELD DAY NEWS
LOGGING SOFTWARE – Those of you who use logging software should check with the developers to see what updates they have. We recommend the N3FJP Field Day Contest Log and Club Score Processor. It is easy to use and allows operators to log their contacts to a central database. The software also enables home stations to post their contacts in real time to our website.
CALL SIGNS (Home Stations) – Club members who operate from home should use their own call sign, not the club call sign. Credit will still go to the club as long as everyone uses the exact same club name when uploading their results to the ARRL. We will use the following designation for our club:
Butler County AR Public Srvc Group
This name must be submitted exactly as written above. Variations such as “BCARPSG”, “Butler Co. Public Service Group”, “Butler County PSG” will not work. Computers are processing the results and computers are not smart enough to know these are all the same thing.
CLUB COORDINATION – We are going to use the 147.300 and 443.900 repeaters to stay in touch and coordinate during Field Day.
RULES – All the usual Field Day rules apply (station class, power, points, etc..). Please see the ARRL Field Day Rules page for details.
DUPLICATES – This applies to home stations only: Do not worry about duplicates with other club members. Since each home station is operating as an individual there are no club duplicates to worry about.
SCORING – All individual (home) and club scores, including bonus points, will be added together to determine the aggregate club score.
STATION CLASS – Operate as the class appropriate for your station. Everyone at the Winfield Township Municipal Building will be class “A”. Home stations will be “D” or “E”.
NEW GUYS & GALS – This is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills. If you come to our Field Date site you will be able to operate with Extra-class privileges and make contacts on HF. You will be able to learn about digital modes and make digital contacts for the club. There will be many other new experiences and knowledge sharing at the event.
