News
11/30/2023 – Congratulations Ron, KC3RHQ for activating Moraine State Park, K-1387 101 times! Definately an awesome POTA achievement for Ron’s HQ’s here in Western PA and an inspiration for both POTA Chasers, as well as Activators. I know of at least one other operator down in Allegheny County you were neck and neck with, as you sprinted toward the 100 activations bar! You reflect credit upon yourself, as well as the entire PSG. Thank-you Ron!
11/10/2023 – What a GREAT way to start out a month! Two of our members earned their General Class operating tickets, after the PSG Meeting last Wednesday evening. Crystal Cornwell, KC3WFY and Andy Plummer, KC3VRP are now both proud General Class Operators! I’m certain they’re both ecstatic and looking forward to the enhanced operating privileges! Thanks also goes out to the PSG VE Team and it’s leader Mike Mullas, N3DRM, whose been there each and every time a testing session has been requested. To the best of my knowledge, we’ve never cancelled a scheduled test session!
11/4/2023 – Just found out Ron Flinner was able to get his previous Call back! AC3KU is now N3HWW once again! Great news Ron and once again, welcome back!
10/11/2023 – Congratulations are once again in order! Ron Flinner, previously N3HWW, before that KO3Y, a Charter member of our club, pursuing aeronautical interests, had inadvertently let his Extra Class license lapse. He tested this evening and passed his Tech Class exam, which under FCC Rules, should now allow him to regain his Extra Class License! Anyway, welcome back into amateur radio AC3KU!!!
9/18/2023 – WOW! Congratulations are in order! I just found out on the Butler County Net this evening, that new member Jim Cornwell, KC3WCY, has recently earned his Extra Class operating ticket! That’s the way to do it Jim, you now have privileges in the entire amateur spectrum! Good Luck! I’m certain you’ll have many new operating experiences and activities on your operating horizon.
7/30/2023 – Please join me in welcoming Crystel and Walter James (Jim) Cornwell, KC3WFY and KC3WCY respectively, as new members of the PSG! You may have heard them check into the Butler County Net on several occasions or may have met them at our last meeting earlier this month!? Nonetheless, they must have liked what they heard or saw, as they both decided to become regular members!! Their home in Cranberry Township and I’ve added them to the PSG Roster. If you haven’t already done so, say “Hello” the next time you hear or see them. Crystel, Jim, the club’s greatest resource is our membership, Welcome to our Club!!
